Billet Casting
Aluminum billet is a semi-finished product produced through the direct casting of high-strength aluminum ingots. It is widely used in the extrusion industry due to its excellent mechanical properties and consistent quality. Billets are utilized across various wrought alloy groups and are manufactured and supplied to international standards for diverse industries.
Since the billet is the primary raw material for aluminum profile production, a high-quality product can only be manufactured when standard raw materials are used.
Kousha Sanat Opal has always strived for maximum precision and quality in billet production. Equipped with two 18-ton and 10-ton furnaces for billet production via the direct chill (DC) vertical casting method, the company employs metallurgical engineers, experienced technicians, and modern quantometry and cutting machinery. Utilizing the highest quality and most advanced casting fluxes for Degassing operations, the facility produces high-standard billets from 5 to 10 inches in diameter and 6.40m in length. These are available in various alloys from the 1000 to 7000 series for industrial, construction, and military applications, utilizing 1000-pound and 50-pound pure ingots as feedstock.
Kousha Sanat Opal complex is equipped with homogenizing (homogenization) units with a capacity of 25 tons per production line; all produced billets undergo the homogenization process before entering the extrusion and manufacturing phase.
